Life with kids in Sydney City
Barangaroo Delivery Authority has announced its exciting new April school holiday program SKATE at the Cutaway, offering ‘how to’ skateboarding workshops led by Big hART in collaboration with Totem Skateboarding.
Children aged 5 to 15 years are invited to roll into the Cutaway and join some of the best skateboarders in Australia for a professionally curated workshop full of tips, techniques and skatepark etiquette.
This is a workshop for beginners, absolutely no experience is required on the decks. All equipment will be provided, including skateboard, helmet and safety gear.
The workshops are designed to instil confidence, develop skills and most importantly, be lots of fun!
During the session, participants will preview freshly created moments from Big hART's ground-breaking new show SKATE, which is being developed at The Cutaway as part of a six month residency supported by Barangaroo. This pure theatre spectacle will combine skateboarding, percussion and projection in a high-powered performance piece.
During the workshops, each session will be divided by age and ability into groups of up to 20 participants, and will have two facilitators, including female coaches, from Totem Skateboarding and Big hART.
