Life with kids in Sydney City
A lovely cafe with a homely feel, delicious food, great coffee and activities to keep the kids entertained.
The entrance to the cafe is located just off Gardeners Road on Berry Street. The cafe is lovely and open with a comfortable bench seat along the walls, a high table and stools in the centre and intimate high stool seating along the window ledge. There is cool outdoor wooden furniture but maybe not so suitable for young kids trying to manage a drink or bolting onto the street. It's roomy inside and the doorway is almost as wide as the cafe so no problems manoeuvring prams.
There are plenty of children's books, paper for colouring in, crayons and connect 4 over in the little nook by the window. They have 2 highchairs but no changing area.
You should be able to find street parking on Berry Street.
We popped in for lunch I would have been very happy to order any dish on the menu. There is a great breakfast menu and lots of great salad and sandwich options for lunch. I decided on ‘Crunch @ Sea' ($14 - smoked salmon, dill avocado, potato rosti and poached egg on toasted sourdough). It was very tasty and I especially loved the potato rosti which was very like a hash brown but lighter and crunchier. My hubby ordered a Club Sandwich ($8.50) and chips ($2.50) and was very happy with his choice. The coffee was perfect too. There isn’t a specific kids menu but there are different toast and sandwich options that are reasonably priced.
We’ll definitely be back!
