Sessions for babies and toddlers
Storytime, Rock 'n' Rhymetime and Rhymetime sessions introduce young children to the wonderful world of books, music and craft. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Admission is free and no bookings are required.
Rhymetime - This is a lap sit program for babies (0 to 2 years) that combines rhymes, music, singing and toys to develop early literacy skills. Thursdays; 10am to 10.30am.
Storytime - A fun session of story telling and craft for pre-schoolers (3 to 5 years) that fosters an early love of reading and develops skills in literacy and social interaction. Thursdays; 11am to 11.45am.
Surry Hills Library specialises in fashion and design titles, as well as having a significant lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender collection. Other features include: a constantly changing collection of books, CDs and DVDs free wireless internet public access computer scanning, printing and photocopying facilities, weekly rhyme and storytime dedicated local history collection.
