Life with kids in Sydney City
Prince Alfred Park is a popular inner city park, situated right behind busy Central train station. You would not associate the Redfern/Surry Hills area as being a kid friendly area at all, however this park has undergone a major $9 million facelift thanks to the City of Sydney, which is great for families.
The seven-hectare park now has two new basketball courts, fitness stations, new barbecue and picnic areas plus the new, heated Prince Alfred Park Pool.
Kids will love the two children’s playgrounds with see-saws, swings and custom play equipment. It's spread out and that's fun for the kids. There are 4 slides built into the hill, 4 sets of swings and a see saw and over by the pool and cafe there is a really cute area for smaller kids - a hot water balloon and an elephant with a slide on his trunk!
There's plenty of activities for the family with a great bike riding trail, ample BBQ and picnic facilities and as well as the ample green space and dog walking facilities.
The playground is located beside the amazing pool - look for the bright yellow umbrellas!
Prince Alfred Park Pool has an amazing toddler pool.
