Life with kids in Sydney City
What a beautiful cafe! Nonno Lucio's has a warm ambiance and is definitely child friendly (2 and 4 legged - pups welcome!). Home made and organic ingredients can be found on their menu.
I was so lucky to stumble across Nonno Lucio's while exploring Glebe Point Rd and searching for new and exciting cafes.
Owner's Lou and Sharon have created a beautiful space; an initial entryway showcases delicate pastries and sweets made by Sharon and Lou's Mother. A painting of their 3 Shar Pei's decorates a wall and emphasises their stance on the courtyard being pet friendly.
Down a few stairs is a larger area with unique lighting and a gorgeous wallpaper backdrop. ;My son used the high ceilings to practice his singing LOUDLY (lucky it was raining and quiet at the time we went!)
Through a hallway is a decent sized courtyard which will be fantastic for summer soirees and mum's group catchups.
Food is an all day breakfast menu with home made pasta for lunch. Friday and Saturday nights are pasta night with BYO corkage $2 per person (AMAZING!).
While you're enjoying your lunch, there's a cabinet of candles, handmade angels and jewellery to peruse as well as local art work. ;Hand made soy candles can double up as massage oil.
Nonno Lucio really is a gem; designed to provide authentic Italian cuisine in a "family kitchen" style and encouraging diners to hang out and chat together. This was demonstrated by my hour long conversation on nutrition and social media with a fellow diner!
The ideas Sharon and Lou have for this remarkable space will continue to evolve, with the possibilities of classes such as knitting, crochet, mahjong, numerology, listening to intuition, and so many more!
;Keep an eye on their Facebook page for all classes!
Coffee: Award winning Ruby Street by Aroma coffee is rich and syrupy with a distinct nutty profile
Tip: Try ALL of the pastries. ALL - OF - THEM! Sharon makes the Tiramisu!
Locality: Nonno Lucio are focusing keeping things local, with their gelato, bread & coffee all coming from the Inner West/Sydney City area.
