Life with kids in Sydney City
Harold Park Playground is located in the City of Sydney, right next to Tramsheds. It has been transformed from a racecourse and developed into a brand new, amazing parkland, playground and picnic area.
Weekends and playgrounds go hand in hand in our house and Tramsheds is a favourite spot to go for coffee, lunch, shopping or just to relax and be outdoors.
The brand new playground (which has tons of parking for cars or bikes) was officially opened by the Lord Mayor on 27th October 2018.
Watch from the many seats on the outskirts of the playground as your children slide down one of the two massive tunnel slides. There are covered BBQ stations, gorgeous sandstone walls (but no fences) and plenty of benches to sit on.
The park’s design incorporates elements from the local environment and the area’s history, for instance the patterns on the shelters echo pressed metal ceiling designs found in nearby 20th century homes. Harold Park Paceway operated from 1890 to 2010, making it the oldest continuously operating paceway track in NSW.
A park would not be complete without a sandpit, set at the bottom of an impressive sandstone cliff.
