Life with kids in Sydney City
Metro St James is a gorgeous cafe, bistro and bar in a perfect location in Sydney City.
We had a pit stop here on a visit to Hyde Park. Its in a super location with a lovely outlook onto Hyde Park. It’s just behind St James train station and only 2 minutes to David Jones and Westfield shopping centre.
Metro St James have a lovely outdoor cafe area, shaded with umbrellas with artificial grass so quite suitable for toddlers. You can sit here and people watch for ages or as long as you kids will allow you! The giant chess board is just beside the cafe so there are always people playing and watching.
I just wanted a coffee the day we visited and we weren’t really hungry but we still ended up ordering Buttermilk scones with Hank’s mixed berry jam and vanilla cream ($7)There is no specific kids menu but there are options on the breakfast and lunch menu’s.Breakfast - Various toasts, toasted sandwiches and waffles,Lunch - Pizzas and toasted and fresh sandwiches
It's licensed and has all the Stoneleigh wines (which I love), beers, cocktails and Sangria. The outdoor area turns into a beer garden at night. There is a bistro inside with a different menu and times to the cafe.
