Life with kids in Sydney City
One of the best meals I've had in ages - a unique menu and quirky kids area.
Delish food, smokey coffee and a unhappy child - made the scene for a nice morning with the family, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
I have to say that the atmosphere and general vibe of In the Annex was pretty swish, and the menu matched the rave reviews all over their Facebook page.
I had the the Fried Egg Roll with Bacon (Of course) and it was by far one of the best I have eaten, and I have eaten 'a few' in my life time.
The added distractions of a 'blackboard' fridge with coloured chalk and literally a suitcase full of toys, meant I was able to sit down for 80% of my meal and allowed me to stain my white shirt with saucy goodness in peace.
Dani had a blackbean cheesy quesadilla, and if you know Dani - she likes her cheese and is a tough critic. The moans of deliciousness were obviously a good indication of the quality, and within minutes it was over. I'm actually surprised I didn't see her licking her plate clean.
With a couple of meals and drinks, the back pocket didn't take a beating either, which is always nice considering the quality of the food and venue.
I will definitely be back for more, maybe during the week days as I could imagine the weekends would fill pretty quickly and given the cosy setting, could struggle for the space you need when taking out young ones.
Make sure you try the unique smoothies and shakes, including a "kids milo dinosaur."
