Come and play in the Garden! Dandy Lions is a delightful morning of gardening, craft, storytelling and play for young children and their carers. Each week, explore a new garden-related theme, with specially designed activities for children under the age of five. Join Royal Botanic Garden Sydney education staff for: Garden activities including planting and harvesting. Nature-based art and craft. Lively, interactive storytelling Songs, music and dance Garden discovery walks Playtime and fun!
Gardening fun, nature based craft, songs, stories and play. For children aged under 5 years. Casual places are also available each week $17 per child.
Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens receive a 10% discount.
Location: Lawn next to Woolloomooloo Gate, Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney. Enter through Woolloomooloo Gate opposite the Art Gallery of NSW.
Getting there: Train: the nearest station is Martin Place.Other stations close to the Royal Botanic Gardens are St James and Circular Quay.
Ferry: an easy walk from Circular Quay
Bus: the 441 (Balmain via QVB Building) leaves York Street, Town Hall on weekdays, 10 am to 5 pm, stopping outside the Art Gallery of NSW.
The Sydney Explorer Bus also includes the Royal Botanic Gardens on its route and the 200 (Chatswood to Bondi) stops in Macquarie Street.
Car: there is metered parking along Mrs Macquaries Road, Hospital Road and Macquarie Street. Undercover parking is available at the Domain Car Park, Sydney Hospital, the Sydney Opera House and in Macquarie Street.
