Life with kids in Sydney City
Bourke Street Bakery is known for its beautiful breads and wholesome baked food. The coffee is amazing and basically everything they make is gorgeous. It's great for a take away on the way to the park or a sit in if it's not too busy.
Bourke Street Bakery in Alexandria is located on the corner of Gardeners Road and Ellis Avenue. It's a small cafe and has some steps up to the entrance so if you have a pram it's best leave it outside. There outdoor seating on the pavement on Ellis Avenue but might not be safe for toddlers running around. They have a highchair but no change facilities.
Inside you will be greeted by friendly staff and a gorgeous aroma of freshly baked bread and pies. I adore the coffee here and my favourite order is the Beef Pies ($5.30), Pork and Fennel Sausage Rolls ($4.50) and the amazing Carrot Cake. They also have fresh salads, mini pizzas, sandwiches and gorgeous tarts and cakes baked in house.
It can get very busy at peak times but your never waiting too long.
There's usually free street parking on Ellis Avenue.
Lionel Bowen Park Playground is 10 minutes walk and it's totally worth the walk!
